I realized why Asian are so good at math. It’s because Asian parents are great at disciplining but suck at teaching. My parents are an example. When I was younger they would make me study for hours and hit me every time I got an answer wrong. The thing is though, this could only happen while I was younger. Also, my parents were unable to help me with learning any English conventions at a younger age. I learned basic mathematics at a very young age but my English skills came from my own willingness to read a lot of books on my own. Now that I am in high school I suck at math. Reason? My parents can’t force that onto me. They don’t know anything past Algebra I. I wish they did know up to Calculus or some high math though. Getting seated and yelled at sucks, but being ahead of everyone else and understanding the material is great.
